A meeting with media representatives was held in Chiathura on the challenges related to mining activities.
Georgian Manganese's Special Manager Besik Kirtadze, General Director Lasha Tutberidze, Administrative D,irector Teimuraz Khonelia, Financial Director Giorgi Tatishvili and Director of HR Department Mariam Kutateladze explained to journalists the vision of the company related to overcoming of the crisis created in Chiatura enterprises, which remains a challenge until now.
At the meeting, it was mentioned that the international audit company PricewaterhouseCoopers will study the mining activity in Chiatura, determining the financial results and economic efficiency.
The representatives of the company also answered the questions of the media. The journalists caused interest why Georgian Manganese continues to operate in Chiatura despite the crisis and losses created in the market; General Director in response to their questions stated that Chiatura is a social project and the company approaches its activities with high responsibility.
At the same meeting, media representatives heard detailed information around the company's environmental policy. The special manager of Georgian Manganese, Besik Kirtadze, introduced the two-year action plan to the journalists, which involves continuing the reclamation works in Chiatura and solving the problem caused by the pollution of the river Kvirila with sludge.
