We are committed to providing a safe, healthy and harmless environment for all employees while carrying out our activities. Considering that complex technological processes take place at enterprises managed by the company, protecting and improving labor safety conditions remains our top priority. In order to achieve this, we implement a number of preventive measures and constantly monitor the work process.
Every day, our team takes care to improve the working conditions of employees; occupational safety specialists monitor and manage production processes and react immediately when a defect is detected.
We created the Department of Labor and Technical Safety. As a result, the company has increased the number of occupational safety engineers. The team has been renewed and staffed with young, energetic employees who comply with existing regulations, both EU standards and local laws, on a daily basis. After that, they actively try to introduce and implement them correctly into the daily activities of the company.
After carrying out a scheduled technical inspection of passenger cable cars, due to the age of the structures of passenger cable cars, we decided to conduct a more thorough inspection of them. Based on the results of the inspection, it turned out that the passenger cable cars had undergone a major, in fact complete, overhaul. Because of this, their use was prohibited.
According to the prevailing practice in Chiatura, products were extracted from the mines using the fire explosion method. This method was outdated and came with many risks. Although replacing the fire explosion method with the non-electric Nonel method made the process quite expensive, due to its high level of safety, we decided to integrate it into the explosion process.
We improved the quality of personal protective equipment and approached international standards as much as possible. This, at first glance, may not seem like a very important issue, but in fact it is very important and has a direct relationship with the employees' use of them in the workplace. Failure to use individual protection means significantly increases the probability of incidents. That is why we do our best to ensure that the employee wears appropriate overalls and shoes while working.
