At this stage, active work is in progress on upgrading the stations. As part of the project, the ropes, the control system will be completely replaced, and most importantly, the historic, unique passenger gondolas will be completely renovated. After the completion of the works, the original appearance of both the main station and the gondolas will be preserved.<\/p>\n<p>The public-passenger cable cab and the station have been granted the status of a cultural heritage monument. Therefore, the work is carried out with special care, according to a pre-developed plan and in full compliance with safety norms. <\/p>\n<p>Two gondola Sashevardno line is provided for 14 passengers in both directions. The length of the line is 250 meters, the height between the stations is 186 meters, the angle of inclination is 48 degrees, the duration of the movement is 1.7 minutes, and the speed is 2.8 meters per second.<\/p>\n<p>The restoration of the ropeway, gondolas and station will be provided by the Georgian Manganese together with the Municipal Development Fund. The cable cab has not been in operation for about two years, because the passenger line, as well as the gondolas, were completely amortized. After the completion of the rehabilitation works, travel will become completely safe, which will give the city a new life.<\/p>\n<p>The first passenger ropeway in Chiathura is \"Chiathura-Perevisa\", the so-called the 25th road was built in 1954 under the leadership of Giorgi Pansulaia, an outstanding engineer-constructor. In 1966, under the leadership of Giorgi Phantsulaia, a unique public-passenger ropeway was built from Ninoshvili Street to Sashevardno. This ropeway is Chiatura's visiting card, which attracts tourists.
