Metallurgist's Day was celebrated in Zestafoni

The management team of Georgian Manganese awarded the metallurgists of the ferroalloy plant in Zestafoni and congratulated them on their professional day. The metallurgists were given certificates of gratitude and monetary awards for their special contribution to the company's activities.

Representatives of the Georgian Manganese company and members of the local government attended the metallurgical day. The professional day was personally congratulated by the special manager of Georgian Manganese, Nikoloz Chikovani, Zestafoni, Baghdati, Terjola and Tkibuli Member of Parliament Bezhan Tsakadze, state trustee in Imereti region Zviad Shalamberidze, Zestafon mayor Vasil Gvelesiani, Director of Operational Management of Georgian Manganese Lasha Tutberidze and the director of the ferroalloy plant Gocha Kurdadze.

"The profession of metallurgist is the work of strong, hard-working, purposeful people who combine art and science. Hard work and responsibility of metallurgists deserve sincere recognition, respect and appreciation. Metallurgy requires great courage, bravery and hard work. These are the qualities that I see in each employee and that deserve the greatest respect and appreciation," said Nikoloz Chikovani, special manager of Georgian Manganese.

Every year, Georgian Manganese celebrates Metallurgist's Professional Day with various events. The goal is to appreciate the employees of the Zestafoni ferroalloy plant and promote the metallurgical profession in the next generation. In the ferroalloys factory, on the day of the metallurgist, an experimental furnace was officially opened in the second workshop.

"The experimental furnace will help us to use the technology of crystalline silicon for unique products, which means that the enterprise increases its production in new directions," said Gocha Kurdadze, Director of the ferroalloys plant.

The celebration of Metallurgist's Day is traditionally associated with the name of Giorgi Nikoladze, the founder of Georgian metallurgy, under whose leadership, the first test furnace was built in Georgia. On the metallurgist's professional day, citizens and employees of the ferroalloy plant gathere in Zestafoni, right in Giorgi Nikoladze square, the tradition was not broken this year either. The citizens decorated the monument with flowers and spoke about the achievements of Giorgi Nikoladze before the country.

In order to share responsibility for environmental protection and to create a better ecosystem, a greening campaign was organized, where 500 plants of ifan, thuja and other trees were planted throughout Zestafoni. This year, the company has announced a number of greening campaigns, which include planting and cheering up seedlings.
